Separately, Hyundai America CEO Jose Munoz said the award was dedicated to all employees and car makers in Korea and the United States, who made and sold Avante.

"Elantra is a symbol of our fusion of dynamic design, advanced technology and great fuel economy. Elantra customers will feel all the hard work and dedication that has been put into making this leading car in its class," he added.
