BPK Asks BPJS Employment To Change Job Loss Guarantee Rules

JAKARTA - The Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) has asked the Board of Directors of the Employment Social Security Administering Agency (BPJS) to collaborate with ministries or governments to propose changes to regulations and develop legal products, especially regarding the Job Loss Guarantee (JKP) program and investment management.

BPK asked the board of directors to propose to the ministry or government that Government Regulation Number 55 of 2022 be added to JKP.

"This Job Loss Guarantee is not regulated in government regulations (PP). PP only regulates the Death Security (JKM), Old Age Security (JHT), and Work Accident Insurance (JKK) programs," said BPK III Member Achsanul Qosasi, quoted from Antara, Thursday, March 16.

This statement was conveyed by Achsanul Qosasi when submitting two examination results for a certain purpose/PDTT to BPJS Ketenagakerjaan in 2022 to the Manpower BPJS President Director Anggoro Eko Cahyo in Nusa Dua, Bali.

The two examinations are PDTT for the management of the JKP and PDTT programs on investment management and participation for the 2021 fiscal year until the first semester of 2022.

Regarding investment management, BPK recommends the Directors of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan to improve the director's regulations regarding investment management guidelines, especially regarding stock investment management.

"The guidelines are expected to regulate in more detail and clearly prioritize the principles of prudence, fund security, and adequate results, and do not authorize the Director of Investment Development to violate the provisions that have been made in investment guidelines," said Qosasi.

Based on the results of the examination conducted by the BPK, it was concluded that the management of the JKP program as well as investment and participation management at BPJS Ketenagakerjaan had been carried out in accordance with the provisions. For this achievement, Qosasi appreciates the Board of Directors of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan and its staff.

However, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan is said to have to immediately follow up on all recommendations from the results of the BPK examination. This is because the examination carried out by BPK is a mandate of the Law (UU) and the results of the examination are aimed at transparency to the people.

"BPK is an institution to convince the people that what is mandated by the people to BPJS Ketenagakerjaan has been carried out properly," he said.
