BTS Kominfo Corruption, AGO Explores Johnny Plate's Role And Evidence

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) is exploring the role of Johnny G Plate and evidence in the alleged corruption in the procurement of 4G BTS and supporting infrastructure for packages 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of the Telecommunications and Information Accessibility Agency of the Ministry of Communication and Information (BTS Kominfo) for 2020-2022.

Director of Investigation of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes, Kuntadi, said that regarding Johnny G Plate, his party had finished conducting an examination for today.

He said investigators would explore the role of Johnny G Plate as a user of the Ministry of Communication and Information budget in this project. Because investigators found the project procurement.

"For six hours an examination was carried out and there were 26 questions, to find out their role as budget users," said Kuntadi, Wednesday, March 15.

Furthermore, he said, related to material, of course, cannot be conveyed. Even so, that there are facts that have been accepted and the results of the investigation of the existence of money.

Kuntadi has not confirmed the potential for Johnny to be a suspect in the alleged corruption case of the 4G BTS project and supporting infrastructure for packages 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 BAKTI Kominfo in 2020-2022.

However, Johnny's younger brother, Gregorius Alex Plate (GAP), has returned the money which is his facility in the BAKTI Kominfo BTS tower project amounting to Rp 534 million to the state.

Regarding the confiscation that was used as evidence, the AGO has conducted searches several times to confiscate how much goods and cash.

"Yes, if it was confiscated yesterday, we have said that there are Rp. 10 billion, there are houses, there are motorbikes and so on and in it there is some money from Mr. GAP of 500.

Kuntadi suspects that there is gratification received by Gregorius. "We also want to know the facilities that have been enjoyed by GAP's brother in question, whether it is related to the position concerned or not," said Kuntadi.

Therefore, Kuntadi said this was one of the reasons why the AGO recalled Johnny. He said it would be one of the materials in the upcoming examination process. "We are still investigating everything," he said.

The corruption case of BTS Kominfo began in order to provide digital services in leading, outermost areas and was left behind when Kominfo built the BTS 42,000 site infrastructure.

In the implementation of planning and auction, it is proven that the suspects have engineered and conditioned, so that in the procurement process there is no healthy competition condition so that in the end it is suspected that there is a high price that must be paid by the state.

In this case, the AGO has named five people as suspects, namely AAL as the President Director of Bakti Kominfo, GMS as the President Director of PT Mora Telematika Indonesia, YS as the Human Development Expert at the University of Indonesia in 2020, MA as Account Director of Integrated Account Department of PT Huawei Tech Investment, IH as Commissioner of PT Solitech Media Sinergy.
