Jambi Prison Provides Drug Case Rehabilitation Room

JAMBI - Muara Sabak Narcotics Prison in Jambi will provide medical rehabilitation facilities for correctional inmates (WBP) or drug convicts.

"The use of medical rehabilitation of WBP narcotics abusers at the Muara Sabak narcotics prison and it is hoped that in the future narcotics prisons as other than coaching places will also be to rehabilitate prisoners or prisoners there to be free from drugs," said Jambi Tholib, Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham), Monday, March 13, confiscated by Antara.

Rehabilitation of narcotics is part of the process of fostering and maintaining health and is in line with the function of coaching but as an effort to rehabilitate and reintegrate the social of prisoners so that they can return to society in a healthy manner.

Based on the Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights Number 12 of 2017 concerning the implementation of narcotics rehabilitation services for Prisoners and WBP at the Correctional UPT mandates that addicts, abusers and victims of narcotics abuse receive narcotics rehabilitation services at the Muara Sabak Narcotics Correctional Institution.

"This is also in accordance with the Joint Regulation of 7 Ministries or institutions regarding the handling of narcotics addicts and victims of narcotics abusers into rehabilitation institutions. Articles 5 and 7 of the Joint Regulation states that narcotics addicts and victims of narcotics abuse receive rehabilitation in detention centers or prisons," said Tholib.

This program will be a means for prisoners of drug cases at Muara Sabak Prison to be able to return to society normally and can become better, creative and productive human beings.
