This Morning, Sriwijaya Air's Management Sent 9 Victims' Families To Jakarta

JAKARTA - As many as 9 families of victims of the crash of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft have been dispatched by Sriwijaya's management from Pontianak to Jakarta.

Sriwijaya Air Pontianak's District Manager, Faisal Rahman, stated that they had departed Monday, January 11 this morning.

"This morning we have dispatched nine victims' families using the Sriwijaya Air plane. And currently the nine people are safely in Jakarta," said Faisal Rahmad on Sungai Raya, as reported by Antara, Monday afternoon.

While in Jakarta, the victim's family will be facilitated by Sriwijaya for transportation, accommodation and other necessities.

"While in Jakarta, the families of the victims, we have prepared a family of assistants, and all the basic necessities are also provided. Until now we are in Crisis Canter, we are constantly updating, if there are other families, meals and lodging are also provided," he said.

Faisal added that apart from the families of the victims, Sriwijaya Air also brought the results of DNA samples from the families of the victims that had been collected since last night.

"If the results of this DNA sample, when we arrive at Cengkareng International Airport, they will be immediately taken to Biddokkes Police Headquarters by our officers," he said.

The Sriwijaya Air plane with registration number PK-CLC with flight number SJ-182 route Jakarta-Pontianak lost contact on Saturday, January 9 at 14:40 WIB yesterday and crashed between Lancang Island and Male Island, Thousand Islands, DKI Jakarta.

The Boeing 737-500 aircraft lost contact at a position 11 nautical miles north of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang after passing an altitude of 11,000 feet and at the time of increasing its altitude at 13,000 feet.

The plane took off from Soekarno Hatta Airport at 14.36 WIB. The schedule is delayed from the previous flight schedule at 13.35 WIB. Departure delay due to weather factors.

Based on manifest data, the aircraft produced in 1994 carried 62 people consisting of 50 passengers and 12 crew members. Of these, 40 adults, seven children, three babies. Meanwhile, the 12 crew consists of six active crews and six extra crews.
