Mattoanging Stadium Development Still Hanging
MAKASSAR -Commission E for People's Welfare of the South Sulawesi Province DPRD has not been able to confirm the timing of the continuation of the tender for the Andi Mattalatta ex Mattoanging Stadium rebuilding project because they are still in court proceedings.
"The tender for the Mattoangin Stadium cannot be carried out, because there is still a lawsuit in court," said Commission E member Andre Prasetyo Tanta as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 7.
According to him, the tender for the continuation of the construction of the stadium could not be carried out due to a legal process, so the South Sulawesi Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora) did not dare to proceed with the tender.
However, the South Sulawesi Provincial Youth and Sport Office will continue with the tender if the land lawsuit case at the Makassar District Court, which is currently rolling, has a final decision or has permanent legal force (inkrah).
"Dispora cannot carry out a tender if there is still an ongoing legal lawsuit. This must wait for the decision on the new inrah suit to re-implement the tender for the construction of the stadium," said the Legislator from the NasDem Fraction.
So far the South Sulawesi DPRD continues to encourage related parties so that the legal issue can be resolved quickly, so that the stadium that is the pride of the Makassar people can be rebuilt after it was completely demolished in October 2020.
"We at the DPRD will continue to push for a tender to be able to rebuild our proud stadium soon," he hoped.
Previously, the South Sulawesi DPRD had approved a budget for the construction of the Mattoangin stadium of IDR 60 billion for the 2023 fiscal year. In addition, the South Sulawesi Provincial Government has submitted a large budget from the APBN to continue the construction of the stadium.
However, the construction of the stadium could not be carried out even though there was a budget available because the civil lawsuit was still in progress filed by the respective plaintiffs Andi Ilhamsyah Mattalatta and Teddy Anwar who claimed the land belonged to them.

Even though the Makassar District Court's decision ruled that the Pemprov as the defendant won at the Makassar District Court level, the plaintiff has filed an appeal one level above the Makassar District Court.
Head of the Legal Bureau of the Secretariat of the South Sulawesi Provincial Government, Marwan, stated that his party is still committed to building the stadium, it's just that they have to be careful because there are still legal issues related to land and compensation from the plaintiff that have not been resolved.
"If everything is clear (complete), and we win in an accidental way, then we are safe from a legal standpoint. Regarding technical readiness and budget, of course they will be prepared," said Marwan.
