Minister Of Transportation Budi Karya: Rp. 50 Million Jasa Raharja Has Prepared As Compensation For Victims Of Sriwijaya Air SJ-182
JAKARTA - The Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi has assigned related parties to fulfill the rights of the families of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 victims in the form of compensation according to applicable regulations.
"I have assigned Jasa Raharja, Director General of Civil Aviation, and Sriwijaya Air, to take further steps by making an inventory of victims 'families to provide what is the right of victims and victims' families," said Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi in a virtual press conference in Jakarta, as quoted from Antara, Sunday 10 January.
The Minister of Transportation said that related parties had met with a number of victims' families for data collection.
"InsyaAllah, a meeting has been held today, tomorrow we will have another meeting, and according to Jasa Raharja's report, Sriwijaya has identified and also participated in the process, and has provided lodging for victims' families who live outside the city," explained the Minister of Transportation.
Contacted separately, Director of Jasa Raharja Budi Rahardjo said that according to the provisions of the Minister of Finance Regulation Number 15 of 2017 to the deceased, compensation of IDR 50 million will be delivered to each heir according to the provisions.
"The existing compensation serves as basic protection," he said.
So far, seven body bags have been found.
The Sriwijaya Air SJ 182 plane crashed around Male Island and Lancang Island, Thousand Islands, or 11 nautical miles from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang-Banten.
The Boeing 737-500 PK-CLC registered aircraft crashed when it was about to climb to an altitude of 13,000 feet above sea level.
Before take off, the SJ-182 plane also delayed its departure for 30 minutes due to rainy weather.
The NTSC is currently working with the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) to collect weather-related data.
The Boeing 737-500 has a crew of six active crew. The details of the passengers on flight SJ-182 are 40 adults, seven children, three babies and six crew members as passengers.
