Fall Point Of Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 Aircraft Found, Focus Team Searches For Black Boxes
JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi stated that the crash point of the Sriwijaya SJ 182 plane was found and the joint team is now focusing on searching for the black box.
"This discovery is a significant result because it used to take days," said Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi in a virtual press conference in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Sunday, January 10.
The Minister of Transportation confirmed that his party would quickly complete the search for both black boxes and victims.
"I convey my pride to the entire team, both from the TNI / Polri, Basarnas, KNKT, but I also convey my deep sorrow for the passing of our brothers and sisters," said Minister of Transportation Budi Karya.
On the same occasion, TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto said that his party would prepare a crane to take large pieces of the fuselage.
"The Indonesian Navy together with Basarnas took SJ 182 pieces. We took the small parts, the large parts we will bring a crane to lift the parts," he said.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT), Soerjanto, said that his party would come up with a device to catch the SJ 182 black box signal.
"We now know the position of the black box earlier. NTSC accepting the ping finder tool will immediately carry out the search hopefully not too long. We concentrate on looking for black boxes and evaluating. Hopefully, we will find a black box for not too long, ”he said.
The Sriwijaya Air SJ 182 plane crashed around Male Island and Lancang Island, Thousand Islands, or 11 nautical miles from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang-Banten.
The Boeing 737-500 PK-CLC registered aircraft crashed when it was about to climb to an altitude of 13,000 feet above sea level.
Before take off, the SJ 182 plane also delayed its departure for 30 minutes due to rainy weather.
The NTSC is currently working with the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) to collect weather-related data.
The Boeing 737-500 has a crew of six active crew. The details of the passengers on flight SJ-182 are 40 adults, seven children, three babies and our six crew members as passengers.
