DMC Team And Barzah Dompet Dhuafa Help Evacuate SJ-182 Sriwijaya Air Victims
JAKARTA - Volunteers from the Disaster Management Center (DMC) team together with the corpse service team (Barzah) and the Dompet Dhuafa medical team helped evacuate victims of the Sriwijaya Air plane crash on the Jakarta-Pontianak route with flight number SJ-182.
"Since last night the SAR 1 DMC Dompet Dhuafa team moved to the location of the incident at Tanjung Kait Beach after receiving directions from the Basarnas Dantim, followed by the Barzah team moving towards the location at 21.00 WIB," said Director of DMC Dompet Dhuafa Benny, reported by Antara, Sunday, 10 January.
A number of DMC Dompet Dhuafa volunteers have joined the SAR Team to search for victims of airplane accidents in the waters of the Thousand Islands since Saturday, January 9 yesterday.
Dompet Dhuafa DMC volunteers have also coordinated with the National SAR Agency (Basarnas) to help search and evacuate plane crash victims.
The team that was dispatched consisted of divers, a Barzah fleet with four personnel, an ambulance with doctors and nurses to Landing Craft Rubber (LCR) with four surface SAR crews.
"The SAR 1 team arrived at Tanjung Kait Beach at 21.30 WIB. This morning, the SAR Team 1 together with Basarnas departed from Tanjung Kait Beach to carry out SAR operations for the downing of the Sriwijaya Air plane in the Thousand Islands," said Benny.
Meanwhile, at the Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) Main Post, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, a number of joint volunteers held a morning rally. SAR Team 2 DMC Dompet Dhuafa with medical team and Barzah team were directed by Dantim to wait at JICT 2 Main Command Post Tanjung Priuk, North Jakarta.
"Until now, the team is still evacuating and searching for the Sriwijaya Air plane which crashed in the waters of Tanjung Kait around Lancang Island. Hopefully the weather will be clear, so that the search for victims and Sriwijaya Air planes will be quickly found, ”said Erwandi Saputra, Head of the DMC Dompet Dhuafa SAR Team.
Previously, the Sriwijaya Air aircraft PK-CLC SJ registration number 182 Jakarta-Pontianak route lost contact on Saturday, January 9 at 14:40 WIB and crashed in the waters of the Thousand Islands between Lancang Island and Laki Island.
