Minister Of PUPR: 81 Percent Of Flood Problems In Bandung Are Solved
BANDUNG - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said that 81 percent of flood problems in Bandung Regency, West Java, had been resolved thanks to a number of infrastructures.The infrastructure includes the Cisangkuy Floodway, Andir Retention Pool, and Cienteung Retention Pool which was recently inaugurated by President Joko Widodo. In addition, the existing Nanjung Tunnel also helped solve the flood problem."Then there are also five water folders in this basin area, only two more water folders will be built this year, there will be seven. Hopefully there will be no more flooding," said Basuki after the inauguration of Andir Retention Pool, Bandung Regency, West Java, Antara, Sunday, March 5.He also did not deny that there were still a number of areas in Bandung Regency that were affected by flooding with a total of about 72 hectares. Even so, the flooding that occurred was not as high as before.So far, the condition of housing residents at points that are usually flooded, especially in the Andir area, has started to return to normal. In fact, the price of land in the area has gone up."Kita lihat rumah-rumah sudah mulai dicat lagi, harga tanah pun sudah naik," kata Basuki.He explained that the resolution of the flood problem in the Bandung Regency area was part of the activities of the Ministry of PUPR in dealing with problems upstream of the Citarum River.Basuki said that he has now started dealing with problems in the downstream area of the Citarum River by building the Cibeet Dam and Cijurey Dam.He also said that the construction of a number of infrastructures was also the answer to the recent flood problems in Karawang and Bekasi."Then in the downstream we build a embankment, hopefully with that, God willing, it will decrease," he said.Previously, President Joko Widodo inaugurated four infrastructures in the Bandung Regency and Bandung City areas.
