HDCI Chairman Ahmad Sahroni: Officials With Fantastic Assets Are Legal As Long As Accountable
SEMARANG - Chairman of the Harley Davidson Club Indonesia (HDCI) Ahmad Sahroni considers that state officials with fantastic assets are legal as long as they can be accounted for.
"How fantastic an official's treasure should be, it's not normal, it's not normal," said Sahroni on the sidelines of the inauguration of HDCI management in Semarang, Friday, March 3.
He said this was in response to the breaking news about officials from the Directorate General of Taxes and Directorate General of Customs and Excise at the Ministry of Finance who have fantastic assets and are in the public spotlight.
Sahroni said that if the officials could be held accountable for the assets they owned and reported to the KPK, that would be fine.
"In my opinion, it is only legal if it can be accounted for," added the Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR.
He also supports the government's call for state officials not to flaunt luxury or live a hedonistic life.
"Including the disbandment of the motorbike community in one of the institutions which were also considered legitimate," he said.

"Until 2022, I will always submit LKHPN regularly, because that is the duty of officials," he continued.
Meanwhile, HDCI officials from various regions in Indonesia attended the inauguration ceremony which was held at the Padma Hotel Semarang.
Dozens of Harley Davidsons and supercars belonging to HDCI members were parked in the hotel parking lot located on Sultan Agung Street, Semarang City.
