Asking To Monitor Rivers In Central Java Potentially Eliminating, Ganjar Asks All Parties To Synergize
Central Java (Central Java) Governor Ganjar Pranowo asked all parties to work together to monitor river conditions during extreme weather. Especially rivers that have high potential to experience disasters.
This was conveyed by Ganjar while reviewing the Dawe River embankment in Golantepus Village, Mejobo District, Kudus Regency, Central Java. The embankment was broken due to an increase in water volume, Friday 3 March. "Of course, all related elements need to coordinate with each other so that the handling can be effective and optimal. "If necessary, I will ask for help from the TNI/Polri in handling this," he said.
He hopes that the flood problem in Kudus Regency can be handled soon so that incidents like this do not happen again in the future.
"Hopefully it will be handled soon, hopefully this incident will not happen again," he said. The Regent of Kudus Hartopo explained that one of the reasons for the breakdown of the Dawe River embankment was sedimentation.
The cause of river sedimentation, he said, is the erosion of upstream areas, in mountainous areas where there are no hard plants. "Because part of the forest area in Kudus is bedless, there is erosion that causes sedimentation in the river," he said.
