Former Secretary General Of Berkarya Joins PSI With 20 Loyalists
JAKARTA - The former secretary general of the Beringin Karya Party (Berkarya) Badaruddin Andi Picunang and 20 of his loyalists joined the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI).
"We joined the Indonesian Solidarity Party to jointly win PSI in the 2024 elections, become a parliamentary party, and have the right to place representatives in the DPR RI," said Badaruddin in a statement reported by ANTARA, Friday, March 3.
Badaruddin agrees with PSI's vision and mission regarding anti-corruption and anti-intolerance attitudes. He also stated his commitment to overseeing the PSI program to fight corruption and intolerance as well as possible.
"We will prioritize national development based on improving the quality of human resources and the use of natural resources for people's welfare," he explained.
For Badaruddin, PSI is the present and future party and has new energy to build the nation into a gathering place for intellectuals and individuals with integrity from diverse backgrounds.
Even though it consists of different ethnicities, religions, and races, he said that PSI is united by tolerance which is strengthened by the framework of the Republic of Indonesia based on the 1945 Republic of Indonesia Constitution and Pancasila.

"We believe that PSI is the party of our last choice to fight together for a more advanced Indonesia. We will also embrace potential beyond the existing voting base for PSI's glory," he explained.
He also expressed his gratitude to PSI for giving him and 20 Berkarya Party loyalists the opportunity to join the party led by Giring Ganesha.
"Thank you to the PSI extended family for giving us the opportunity to jointly develop the country through a healthy and visionary political party," said Badaruddin.
