Perpetrator Of Brawl Who Killed A Teenager In Palembang Was Caught By Police

PALEMBANG - Police officers have arrested a perpetrator of a brawl that killed a teenager in Kertapati, Palembang City, South Sumatra.

Kertapati Police Chief AKP Alfred said that the perpetrator had the initials YD. The perpetrator YD was arrested by members of the Kertapati Sector Police's Criminal Investigation Unit some time after the brawl took place on Abi Kusno Cokrosuyoso street, Kertapati, early Thursday at around 02.00 WIB.

"YD is one of the perpetrators allegedly involved in the brawl and is currently being questioned at the Kertapati Sector Police Office," said AKP Alfred, reported by ANTARA, Thursday, March 2.

According to him, the brawl action killed a teenage boy with the initials IW (18), a resident of Kemang Agung, Kertapati.

Based on the results of an external examination by the health team at Muhammadiyah Palembang IW Hospital, it is suspected that he died due to loss of blood.

The hospital health team found stab wounds to the victim's left neck, right hand, and right leg.

The family buried the victim at the Sungai Selayur Public Cemetery (TPU), Kalidoni, this afternoon at around 12.30 WIB.

He said that the results of a series of investigative processes were supported by witness statements and a number of pieces of evidence in the form of amateur video recordings. The brawl was allegedly triggered by a challenge between two groups of teenagers.
