Sri Mulyani Considers BLU's Revenue Of IDR 89 Trillion To Be Low Compared To Total Assets Of IDR 1,170 Trillion

Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani appreciated the performance of the Business Service Agency (BLU) which succeeded in exceeding the 2022 revenue target from IDR 78.8 trillion to IDR 89.5 trillion.

However, the Minister of Finance assessed that the score could not reach the ideal value if it was measured by the total managed assets in BLU.

"Indeed, this can be 113 percent of the target supported from hospitals and the education sector that has started to recover. But don't point out in terms of income, it should be from assets of IDR 1,170 trillion, whether it is appropriate to generate revenue of IDR 89.5 trillion," he said at the BLU Coordination Meeting (Rakor) on Thursday, March 2.

According to the Minister of Finance, assets in the mastery and management of the Public Service Agency must be optimized in order to produce higher value benefits.

"This is what I often say, the assets should not be allowed to sleep but the father/mother's work is extraordinary. Therefore, the assets must work," he said.

The state treasurer also encouraged BLU leaders to be able to maximize ownership of these assets. In fact, he did not rule out cooperation with third parties to produce a better return.

"If you want to use it productively or even commercially, you have to stick with good governance signs. Don't let this cause a disaster of corruption," he stressed.

For information, the concept of BLU management is contained in Law Number 1 of 2004 concerning State Treasury.

BLU is an agency within the Government that was formed to provide services to the community in the form of providing goods and/or services whose activities are based on the principles of efficiency and productivity.

Meanwhile, the number of BLUs to date is 264 which are spread under various ministries/agencies, such as the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Health, and the TNI/Polri.
