Kasatpol PP Badung I Gusti Agung Kerta Suryanegara, foreigners in Bali are difficult to warn. According to him, many foreigners did not believe in the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Yes, that is the fact this is because foreigners think there is no pandemic, so they are just ignorant of health protocols, meaning that sometimes our pride is harassed by them," said Suryanegara when contacted.
Surya said that many foreigners actually brought helmets and masks but they were not used. Many foreigners also are not afraid of being fined and punished.
"He brought a helmet, complete with masks, too. After we stop everything is used, helmets and masks, then they are ignorant. It seems that the fine doesn't mean anything to them, including punishment. Sometimes they laugh and are punished by push-ups, "said Surya.
"We have informed immigration that sometimes we are too overbearing when it comes to masks," added Surya.
Meanwhile, in the operation of implementing health protocols, as many as 80% of foreigners did not comply with the health protocol. This data starts from September 7, 2020 to January 2, 2021. Apart from fines, there are also foreigners who have been punished by push-ups.
"This is a combination of other Indonesian citizens' violations, but specifically 80 percent of the fines are foreigners. Of the 150 who were fined, more than 120 foreigners, "said Surya.
