After 25 Years, Slam Dunk Is Back With A New Movie

JAKARTA - Good news for you fans of the anime and manga series Slam Dunk. The reason is that after a long period of no news, the creator of the Slam Dunk series, Inoue Takehiko announced the latest film project for the animated series of the 90s.

Through his personal Twitter account, Inoue uploaded a status saying that "Slam Dunk will become a movie." The post was then closed with the hashtag #slamdunkmovie.

The tweet was immediately liked by netizens more than 341 thousand times and was retweeted 194 thousand times. In his post, Inoue also embedded a gif image with the title Slam Dunk on it.

Launching the Anime News Network page, Toei Animation's official website states that Slam Dunk will be present in the anime film version. Unfortunately, it is still unknown when the release date for the Slam Dunk anime film.

Of course the announcement of the Slam Dunk film project, so good news for fans. Given the comic series in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine ended, in 1996.

The manga, which focuses on basketball, was also made into an anime series that aired from 1993 to 1996. A total of 101 episodes of Slam Dunk were completed, 25 years ago.
