Warning! Don't Travel Out Of Town In The Middle Of PSBB Jawa Bali

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the Task Force (Task Force) Handling COVID-19 Wiku Adisasmito asked the public to reduce their travel activities outside the city after the government implemented restrictions on community activities in Java-Bali (PSBB Jawa Bali).

This reduction in travel needs to be done to maximize restriction policies and reduce transmission of COVID-19 in the community.

"We urge people to travel less in the next two weeks in order to maximize restriction policies and actually reduce transmission," Wiku said in a press conference held on the YouTube account of the Presidential Secretariat, Thursday, January 7.

In addition, he also asked local governments to maintain mutual conducivity and monitor the trips of residents in their respective regions.

As for the travel policy for travelers, he said the government would announce it. This also follows up the requirements for the rapid test or antigen rapid test for travelers which will end on Friday, January 8.

"The government will immediately announce to travelers in synergy with the enforced restriction rules," he said.

Previously reported, the government through the Chairman of the Committee for Handling COVID-19 and National Economic Recovery (KPC-PEN) Airlangga Hartarto decided to implement the PSBB in Java and Bali. The goal is none other than to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

This new policy took effect on January 11 and ends on January 25. This is also anticipated by the government to be aware of the findings of a new variant of COVID-19 which is said to be more contagious and based on Government Regulation (PP) Number 21 of 2020 concerning Large-Scale Social Restrictions in the Context of Accelerating Handling of COVID-19.
