A Coalition Of Xiaomi, Oppo, Huawei And Vivo To Create Competitive Stores In The Play Store
JAKARTA - Four smartphone manufacturers from China, namely Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo and Vivo, plan to join a large coalition in creating a common application platform. Later this application will become a competitor for the Google Play Store.
This new platform allows developers from all over the world to distribute their applications in stores with this Chinese vendor. This ecosystem is hosted by the Global Developer Service Alliance (GDSA).
This platform will make it easier for young developers to market applications such as games, music, films and others to expand in foreign markets. If there are no obstacles, the GDSA will be released in March and will target several countries including India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Russia, Spain, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam.
This new alliance is a clear step towards independence from Google and the Play Store in the international market. Where Chinese manufacturers do not have many alternatives for a stable app store ecosystem.
"This project is solely to facilitate the uploading of applications by developers to the respective Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo application stores simultaneously. There is no interest in competing between this service and the Google Play Store," Xiaomi told Reuters, Friday, February 7. .
Although all Google products are prohibited from operating in China. At least, Google still earns around 8.8 billion US dollars (US) globally from its Play Store. Google is reluctant to respond to this big project from a coalition of smartphone manufacturers from China.
Wow this is huge! Oppo (including Realme), Vivo, and Xiaomi have all come together to announce a new cross-brand direct file transfer alliance which allows smartphones from all three brands to transfer files between each other. Like AirDrop for Android.https: //t.co/qHbXIOz2TD
