Marco Motta Does Not Ask For Much, Only Police Permits Regarding Continuation Of The League 1 Competition

JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta defender Marco Motta hopes the Indonesian League 1 competition will roll back. The reason is, what the players really miss now is being able to compete on the green field.

"We do not ask for much, just permission to return to do what we like and what fans like," Motta wrote on his personal Instagram page, quoted by Antara, Wednesday.

Currently PSSI and PT Liga Indonesia Baru as competition operators cannot confirm when the competition will be held again even though the initial plan was to be held in February.

The plans of the federation and league operators are still being hampered by permission from the police because they think that the transmission of COVID-19 in Indonesia is still massive.

Motta is now in his home country, Italy, after the management canceled the players from group training activities since a few months ago.

Even though Liga 1 is not certain and is far from Indonesia, Motta doesn't want to be careless. He continues to train independently to maintain his physical condition so as not to drop dramatically when he regroups.

"Meanwhile I continue to train hard that's what I have to do," he said.

In line with Motta, Persija Jakarta midfielder Marc Klok also voiced questions about the professionalism of PSSI, which has never provided certainty about the continuation of the 2020 Liga 1 season.

This was conveyed by Klok in response to PSSI's plan to hold an executive committee meeting (Exco) in mid-January to decide the fate of the continuation of Liga 1 and Liga 2 for the 2020 season.

At the meeting later, Acting Secretary General of PSSI Yunus Nusi PSSI said he would start discussing various possibilities, including canceling the competition if the permit from the police had not been issued.

Responding to this news, through his Twitter account, Marc Klok also expressed his anger. He can't stop thinking about PSSI, which is now giving a signal of cancellation.

"It may be canceled," wrote Marc Klok, quoting Yunus Nusi's statement.

"Come on, we've been waiting 10 months, but it's still gray? It may still be canceled ?! Where is your professionalism? Where's the clarity? Where's the decision? People don't have time to wait anymore. Where's the love for football? Klok tweet.
