Sukabumi Residents Complain About The Rising Price Of Oil And Rice In The Market
SUKABUMI The rise of a number of commodities has made the people complain. However, the Sukabumi City Government (Pemkot), West Java continues to try to stabilize the prices of the basic needs of the community, such as cooking oil and rice.
"The public does not need to panic, because the government, both the Sukabumi City Government, West Java Provincial Government and the central government, continue to strive to stabilize the prices of the basic needs of the community, especially the two commodities," said Sukabumi Deputy Mayor Andri Setiawan Hamami, quoted from Antara, Sunday, February 12.
According to Andri, actually the majority of goods that are the basic needs of the community are still stable, it's just that cooking oil and rice prices go up, because the supply is reduced so that supplies become limited.
Therefore, the Sukabumi City Government continues to coordinate with the central government to immediately make policies to help Sukabumi City so that supplies, supplies and prices for the two commodities return to normal and stable.
One way to reduce prices is not to continue to rise, namely by market operations, of course in its implementation in accordance with instructions or directions from the central government.
"The most important thing is cooking oil, therefore we ask the central government to help prices stabilize. Meanwhile, rice is most likely to be overcome immediately, because some neighboring areas such as Sukabumi Regency will soon carry out rice harvests so that supplies increase and prices are expected to return to normal," he also said.
On the other hand, Andri said that the supply of basic necessities for the community is still adequate, it's just that some traders sell cooking oil above the highest retail price (HET) on the grounds that the price has risen from the supplier level.
Then, coordinating with the Sukabumi City Food Task Force to anticipate the existence of individuals who take advantage of the current situation, especially approaching the holy month of Ramadan 1444 Hijri, such as hoarding that can cause scarcity so that it has an impact on price spikes.
In addition, appeal to the public to remain calm, because the supply of goods, especially food commodities, is still sufficient and should not buy goods or panic buying.
