TNI-Police Evacuate 33 Paro Residents to Kenyam District: 17 are Children
JAKARTA - As many as 33 people from Paro District were evacuated to the New Barracks Post, Task Force Organic Unit Korem 172/PWY Yonif R 514/SY, Kenyam District, Nduga Regency, Saturday afternoon, February 11. The evacuation had to be carried out so that people get safe.
Kapendam XVII / Cenderawasih Colonel Kav Herman Taryaman said the security was carried out by a joint team of Indonesian National Police, one of which involved the Korem 172/PWY Yonif R 514/SY organic unit led by Lettu Inf Anggika as the Territorial Section Officer of the Korem 172/PWY Yonif R 514/ SY in Lower Quary, Kenyam District, Nduga Regency.
"Residents were successfully evacuated after walking through the forest from their village in Paro, then walking to the Lower Quary and then being picked up using 2 trucks and 3 other vehicles", said Colonel Kav Herman.
Of the 33 people who were evacuated, 17 were children, 5 men and 11 women. They were evacuated safely and securely.
"After the residents who had fled were found in the Lower Quarry, then 33 people from Paro District were taken to the New Barracks Post for the Organic Unit Task Force Korem 172/PWY Yonif R 514/SY", he said.
Upon arrival at the Post, a health check will be carried out by the medical team. Meanwhile, Indonesian National Police soldiers continued to provide food to Paro residents.
After it was confirmed that their condition had recovered, the residents were taken to Osen Gwijangge's house as the Head of Tawelma Village, Paro District, on Baru DPRD Office Street, Nduga Regency, Kenyam Village, Kenyam District.
There may be additional evacuees from the Paro community to the Kenyam District, Nduga Regency.
