Honda's Surprise For Espargaro, Who Will Become Marquez's Tandem
JAKARTA - The Repsol Honda team surprised their new racer this season, Pol Espagaro by bringing a new Honda RC213V motorbike to the home of the Spanish racer.
Espargaro officially became a new member of the Repsol Honda team starting January 1 and will partner Marc Marquez, who is still recovering from injury, this season.
In a video posted on the social media for the Repsol Honda team on Monday, Espargaro found the surprise in his garden home after training in the mountains near his home with his pet dog named Eina.
Opening the veil, Espargaro found his identity on the track, namely the number 44 embedded in the motorbike that became his new ride this season.
"This number looks amazing here. I worked really hard to see this number here. It's incredible. It's really beautiful," said Espargaro.
Espargaro ended his four-year journey with KTM by finishing fifth in the MotoGP standings last year.
The 29-year-old racer enjoyed his best season with the Austrian factory team last year by presenting five podium finishes.
Espargaro revealed that he had long dreamed of racing with the HRC team.
