Investigators from the Directorate of Drug Investigation (Ditresnarkoba) of the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police (Polda NTB) arrested and detained a police officer (Aipda) R (38) who was a suspect in a drug case. The suspect is a member of the Bima Police Narcotics Unit.
Temporary Officer (Ps) of the Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Senior Commissioner of Police Lalu Muhammad Iwan Mahardan, in Mataram, Tuesday, said that investigators detained Aipda R at the Detention Center (Rutan) of the Directorate of Detention and Evidence (Dittahti) of the NTB Police.
"Detention has been carried out since January 23, 2023, after being named a suspect in a drug case," said Iwan, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 31.
He ensured that investigators made arrests taking into account subjective reasons in accordance with Article 21 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Procedure Code, namely the suspect's concern that he would run away, damage or destroy evidence, and or repeat criminal acts.
Aipda R, who is a member of the Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satresnarkoba) of the Bima City Police, was arrested based on the results of the development of the case of the arrest of a married couple with suspect N, in Ranggo, Mae Village, Bima City on November 5, 2022.
During the arrest, the police confiscated 10 packages of clear plastic clips containing methamphetamine with a gross weight of 8.92 grams. Evidence was found under the inside carpet of the husband and wife's car.
From the results of the case examination previously handled by the Bima City Police, it was revealed that N kept the evidence under the car carpet. This was done on the orders of Aipda R.
The husband and wife were released because they were not proven to be involved. Instead, investigators continued the examination of N until he named him a suspect.
From N's statement, it was revealed that the drugs came from a colleague with the initials F. F was arrested and then carried out on January 19, 2023 in Rasabou Village, Bolo District, Bima Regency.
It was also revealed from F's statement that he admitted that there was the role of Aipda R in the case of N who kept 10 pockets of crystal methamphetamine on the carpet of the husband and wife's car.
By knowing the problem of this case, the NTB Police took over the handling and carried out further investigations to determine Aipda R as a suspect.
In the filing, now Aipda R, N, and F are suspects who are suspected of violating Article 112 paragraph (2) and/or Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
