Pengalang UP (39), a resident of Taman Subdistrict, Pemalang, is dealing with the police because he was involved in a criminal act of molestation against his own biological daughter until he became pregnant. Ironically, the victim gave birth to a child.

Pemalang Police Chief AKBP Yovan Fatika Handhiska Aprilaya said the suspect UP had committed his actions repeatedly since November 2018, until the last one in May 2022.

"The suspect committed this act repeatedly, until the victim, who is his own daughter, became pregnant and gave birth to a boy on January 14, 2023," said the Pemalang Police Chief, in a written statement, Thursday, January 26.

The Pemalang Police Chief said that when the victim gave birth in the bathroom, the victim's mother was shocked, because she did not know her child was pregnant before.

"At that time, the victim's mother and her family asked the victim to tell who the man had impregnated her," said the Pemalang Police Chief.

Until then, the victim admitted that the man who had impregnated her was her own biological father, added the Pemalang Police Chief.

After hearing the confession from the victim, the Pemalang Police Chief said that the victim's mother, who felt she did not accept the suspect's actions, then made a complaint to the Pemalang Police.

"After receiving a complaint from the victim's mother, we immediately moved to secure the suspect," said the Pemalang Police Chief.

The Pemalang Police Chief said that the suspect UP was subject to articles 81 paragraphs (1) and (3) and or 82 paragraphs (1) and (2) of Law No. 17 of 2016 concerning the stipulation of government regulations of Law No. 1 of 2016 concerning the second amendment to Law No. 23 of 2002 concerning child protection Juncto Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.

"The suspect UP faces a minimum prison sentence of 5 years, a maximum of 15 years, a maximum fine of Rp. 5 billion and an increase of 1/3 of the criminal threat for being carried out by biological parents," said the police chief.
