1,200 Satpol PP Will Raise New Year's Eve Crowds In The Capital City
JAKARTA - Head of the Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) Arifin said that his party will intensify crowd surveillance on New Year's Eve 2021.
In conducting patrols, Satpol PP will tour with the police and TNI. Especially for the Satpol PP ranks, there will be 1,200 officers walking around and will disperse the crowd if found.
"For the new year, Satpol PP will deploy around 1,200 troops, if I'm not mistaken," said Arifin when contacted, Wednesday, December 30.
Satpol PP will also conduct patrols and surveillance of places that have the potential to cause crowds and become gathering places on New Year's Eve.
"For example, in the Kemayoran area, Kota Tua, Lake Sunter, PIK area, East Jakarta BKT, Taman Mini restaurants, hotels, and so on. We will carry out strict supervision and strict control," he said.
In addition, one of the activities prohibited is the convoy of vehicles on the road. "There should be no convoys on the streets on New Year's Eve. It is hoped that on New Year's Eve there will be no crowds occurring on various roads and public spaces," he said.
Arifin said that the Satpol PP personnel would comb roads in Jakarta during New Year's Eve. If anyone keeps holding it, the Satpol PP officers in the field will disperse
