WhatsApp Users Soon Can Send Photos With Original Quality

JAKARTA - Years of WhatsApp users have to be patient when they share photos in the application because the quality is certain to have decreased. But that will never happen again.

Soon, users can immediately share high-quality photos on WhatsApp, which have been delayed for a long time. First reported WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a new feature where users can send photos with genuine quality without any compression.

This new feature is included in WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.2.11 but is under development and is therefore not yet available for beta testers.

WABetaInfo discovered this feature as a new Photo quality setting in the image tool header.

Previously, WhatsApp had allowed users to choose between automatic, best quality, and data savers, the platform currently does not allow users to send photos in their original size and resolution.

Instead, these images are compressed even when choosing the best quality to provide faster data transfers that consume less storage space.

Unfortunately, it is not known whether this new feature will also be extended to the videos sent in the Meta-owned app.

Otherwise, according to The Verge, Tuesday, January 24, users still have a solution to avoid WhatsApp compressing their content by changing the file extension and sending it as a document rather than an image or video.
