PAN Calls Ridwan Kamil Joining Golkar Does Not Change Political Dynamics In KIB
JAKARTA - The National Mandate Party (PAN) believes that the joining of West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil to the Golkar Party will not change the political dynamics of the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB). Because the political parties that are members of KIB have proposed the name of their general chairman to run for the 2024 presidential election.
"Currently, Golkar is still nominating Airlangga Hartarto as a presidential candidate to be proposed to KIB. And the decision in KIB will nominate internal KIB cadres. In PAN there is Zulhas, in Golkar there is Airlangga, in PPP there is Mardiono," said PAN Deputy Head Viva Yoga Mauladi when confirmed by VOI, Thursday, January 19.
Therefore, Viva emphasized, Ridwan Kamil could no longer be nominated as a presidential candidate from KIB. Meanwhile, Viva assessed that the man who is familiarly called Kang Emil had to wait for the party's order because he was now a Golkar cadre.
"Because now Kang Emil has become a Golkar cadre, Kang Emil must obey Golkar policies. Kang Emil cannot differ from Golkar policies, if he is different then Kang Emil violates party policy," said Viva.
However, Viva said that KIB would continue to monitor contemporary political dynamics regarding the decisions of the presidential and vice presidential candidates. Moreover, according to him, the registration of candidate pairs for the 2024 presidential election is still September 2023.
"It's still a long time. KIB remains solid and still fluid," he said.

Nevertheless, Viva welcomed Ridwan Kamil's steps in determining his political port in the Golkar Party. For PAN, Kang Emil remains a political arm-in-arms who has the same national commitment.
"This makes there no distance or partition between PAN and Kang Emil," he said.
