Attorney General Remind Task Force 53 Members To Stay Clean: Help Me, Don't Disappoint
JAKARTA - Attorney General ST Burhanuddin advised 31 prosecutors and prosecutors who were appointed as Task Force 53 to create a clean prosecutor's office. Task Force 53 plays a role in increasing public trust in the AGO.
"Therefore, don't disappoint. I often say that if I don't need smart prosecutors but don't have integrity, I need smart prosecutors with integrity," said Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin after inaugurating and taking the oath of 31 members of Task Force 53 (Satgas 53). , Monday, December 28th.
"Help me make it happen. From your performance, I hope the integrity of prosecutors and AGO employees will be formed and created," added Burhanuddin.
According to him, the formation of Task Force 53 was not a correction. But precisely to strengthen and accelerate the performance of intelligence and surveillance in presenting information, accuracy and speed of action in resolving any suspected disciplinary violations.
"The formation of Task Force 53 is in line with the direction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo at the opening of the 2020 Work Meeting of the Republic of Indonesia Prosecutors, December 14, 2020," said Burhanuddin.
In his direction, President Jokowi said that the prosecutor's office is the face of Indonesian law enforcement in the eyes of the public and internationally.
Therefore, the behavior and actions of every personnel in the prosecutor's office in enforcing the law will become a benchmark for the face of the country in realizing the rule of law in the eyes of the world.
Burhanuddin emphasized that strengthening internal supervision and discipline within the prosecutor's office is something that cannot be negotiated.
"The purpose and objective of establishing Task Force 53 is to create a clean prosecutor's office and increase public confidence in the prosecutor's office," he said.
Burhanuddin explained that this Task Force 53 consists of a combination of the Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence, the Deputy Attorney General for Supervision, and the Legal Information Center which have different but complementary characteristics.
He hopes that the collaboration and synergy of these three cross-sectoral fields can further strengthen the supervisory role as the executor and internal controller of the AGO.
Supervision, according to him, has a vital and influential element in ensuring the success of performance in all areas in accordance with the code of ethics, standard operating procedures and laws and regulations.
"Moreover, currently the prosecutor's office continues to be the subject of public attention, spotlight, and hope at the same time," he said.
