Chrome Users Soon Can DeactivATE Or Enable Extensions Per Site

JAKARTA - Google is working on a new feature that allows users to disable or activate Chrome extensions by site after site.

The Chrome Store Web does have many extensions, but there are obstacles, where some extensions can cause website problems, and some sites don't allow extensions like ad blocking.

Currently, Chrome only allows users to disable extensions for all websites via browser settings, but cannot control extensions based on specific sites.

Now, the new feature will expand that option so that it applies to all add-on. With multiple clicks, it can quickly disable all extensions on specific sites for compatibility, privacy, or performance purposes.

The new feature was first discovered by Redditor Leopeva64-2 who explained the feature on his Reddit account.

"Google is redesigning the extension menu (with a subpage) and it appears that one of the new options is the switch that lets you block all extensions quickly on the current site," Leopeva64-2 said.

This feature is only displayed through the extension menu, and it is impossible to manage extension permissions by site through the settings page.

The Leopeva64-2 also shows that Chrome's new feature mimics Microsoft Edge's site extension pause option, "At Edge, after cropping the extension, the site automatically recharges, I'm not sure if it will work the same in Chrome," said Leopeva64-2.

"Currently in Chrome Canary toggle it doesn't work and the menu doesn't display installed extensions."

Unfortunately, it's unclear how far Google is developing and testing the feature right now, so it's not to say when most Chrome users will get the chance to try it.
