Realize A World Class Tourism Village, Sandiaga Uno Achieves Awards In The Cadereka Program

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, received an award for cooperation and contribution to the 2022 Mathing Fund Business and Creative World Program (UI) with the University of Indonesia (UI).

The award was obtained as an effort to realize a world-class tourist village through the implementation of CHSE and disaster mitigation.

The Kedaireka Matching Fund 2022 program is a collaboration program between the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy with UI which aims to identify the risks of CHSE and disasters and improve the quality of human resources in tourist villages through the application of the creation of lecturers, alumni, and students for the creation of world-class tourist villages (World Class DeWi).

This program is also supported by funding by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology with the aim of strengthening collaboration between Universities (PT) with the World of Business and the Industrial World (DUDI).

Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno said the ongoing Kedaireka UI Matching Fund Program could directly benefit the community through tourist destinations.

"In addition, this program also prepares us in dealing with disasters and SOPs prepared as well as several improvements in human resources in tourist villages," said Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno while attending the Closing Ceremony Hibah Matching Fund Kedaireka at the UI Depok Campus, quoted on Sunday, January 15.

Sandiaga Uno then gave an example in the Mount Padang Site Tourism Village that CHSE training and disaster mitigation have been provided, so that when a disaster occurs, damage can be minimized and the risk of casualties can be suppressed.

"I received news from the village head that there was only minor damage at tourist gates and there were no casualties. Of course, we must collaborate this preparedness with UI, which has many of the best students and researchers to increase the resilience of tourist destinations in Indonesia," he said.

Furthermore, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy said the Kedaireka UI (Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy) program had been carried out well. This is evident from the identification of CHSE risks and disaster mitigation that have been carried out in 58 tourist villages.

The verification activities for the CHSE training field and disaster mitigation have also been carried out in eight provinces, namely West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Kalimantan, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, and West Sumatra.

"This preparedness must be improved, and collaborated with universities that have a myriad of excellence, best of the best of academic, researchers or researchers in increasing resilience from tourist destinations. In 2022 tourism managed to recover because Indonesia handled the pandemic relatively much better than other countries and was more controlled so that the tourism sector which was hit by the crisis and disaster could recover tremendously because we worked together," said Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno.
