DPR Disappointed League 2 Stopped, Andre Rosiade: PSSI Amburadul, Don't Think About The Prosperity Of Players And Coaches
JAKARTA - Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Gerindra Party faction, Andre Rosiade, highlighted the results of the Exco PSSI meeting which decided to stop Liga 2 2022 in the aftermath of a bloody tragedy at the Kanjuruhan Malang Stadium, East Java, on October 1, 2022.
According to Andre, this decision shows that PSSI is getting worse.
The Semen Padang FC Club adviser admitted that he was disappointed that the 2022 Liga 2 was stopped, even though all the 2022-2023 Leagues had just run until the group stage.
Andre admitted that he was surprised because only Liga 1 continued to run while League 2 and 3 were stopped for reasons that made no sense.
"The termination of League 2 makes no sense. As an Indonesian football lover, I am very disappointed with PSSI's declining decision. This decision shows that PSSI does not think about the fate of players, coaches, clubs and other stakeholders," Andre said in his statement to reporters, Saturday, January 14.
The Gerindra legislator for the West Sumatra electoral district said the strange decision to dismiss Liga 2 was very burdensome for many parties.
The reason is, the club has spent energy, time, thoughts and financial matters.
Moreover, Andre continued, clubs have spent a lot of money during the League 2 competition. In fact, he said, many clubs were in a positive trend, such as Semen Padang FC until the 7th week of the League 2 group.
"Stopping League 2 has an impact on the players and officials of the team to make a living, automatically there is no job without competition. According to the data we received, the stop of league 2 has an impact on the 700 players, not to mention with league 3, there are around 15,000 players there. Who will think about their fate? This number can increase a lot if the coaching team and officials are also involved," he explained.
On the other hand, he continued, most of the homebases (hostries' stadiums) have been assessed, and of course they will spend a lot of money. This is because the operation of the risk assessment team costs borne by the club.
"That's why I hope that professional competitions can continue as they should. And, I also hope that promotions and relegation in Liga 1 will continue so that the competition can run professionally," said Andre.
Regarding the signing of a request from league 2 clubs for the competition to be stopped in circulation, this member of Commission VI of the DPR suspects that there are people who play to mobilize and are indicated to manipulate the signature.
Therefore, Andre asked related parties, both the police and FIFA, to investigate the matter.
"Many suspect that PSSI has mobilized the signature of 18 league 2 clubs asking for league 2 to be stopped. This must be thoroughly investigated by the police and also FIFA, how can Indonesian football come forward if this is allowed to happen," he said.
"We think this is the time for PSSI to improve. Maybe replacing the management with new qualified people can be a solution," added Andre.
