BPBD Notes 548 Disasters Occurring In Bantul Throughout 2022, The Most Cases Of Mobile Land

DIY - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bantul Regency recorded an increase of 175 natural disasters in Bantul, throughout 2022 compared to the 2021 incident.

"The total number of disasters in Bantul in 2022 is 548 incidents, an increase when compared to 2021, which is 373 incidents," said the Commander of the Operations Control Center (Pusdalops) of the Bantul Regency BPBD, Aka Luk Luk Firmansyah, in Bantul, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY), Sunday, January 8.

He said, one of the rising disasters was 176 cases of jagged land, an increase of 73 incidents compared to 2021, which was 103 incidents of ground movement.

"The impact of hydrometeorology due to climate and weather factors also affects," he said, quoted by Antara.

Then the fire incident in Bantul throughout 2022 was recorded as 134 incidents, an increase compared to 2021 which was 122 fire incidents.

"The fire incident, due to an electrical short circuit and negligence, was the cause factor," he said.

However, BPBD Bantul noted a decrease in strong winds, namely in 2022 there were 12 incidents with 311 impacts, while in 2021 there were 18 incidents with 403 impacts.

However, in 2022 there will be one tornado incident in the Imogiri District which will have an impact on 142 points.

Furthermore, for the flood incident in 2022, BPBD Bantul noted that there were five incidents with 20 impacts, a decrease in the impact side compared to 2021 which had five incidents with 54 impacts.

According to him, as a result of the incident in Bantul during 2022, the total estimated damage is estimated at IDR 23.76 billion, an increase when compared to 2021 which is IDR 15.24 billion.

The highest estimated damage caused by the fire incident was Rp. 21.5 billion, followed by ground movement with an estimated value of Rp. 1.1 billion, due to strong winds of Rp. 673.2 million, and due to tornadoes of Rp. 49 million.
