South Lampung Police Have Determined 3 Illegal Gold Mining Suspects

The South Lampung Police have named three suspects in the processing of illegal gold mines in Sidoukti Village, Lampung.

South Lampung Police Chief AKBP Edwin said, from the interrogation of the perpetrators, the gold mining processing site was located in Teluk Harapan Hamlet, Sidoukti Village, Katibung District, South Lampung.

"From the interrogation carried out on the four workers, information was obtained that the mine processing site was in Teluk Harapan Hamlet," said Edwin during a press conference, Friday, January 6.

According to the Police Chief, this case will still be developed. Including finding out the possibility of who holds the funding.

"If later in the examination of the suspect and witnesses it is found that there are people who are competent again related to funding, of course we will pursue it," he also said.

He also stated that from the search carried out, the police arrived at the gold mining site in Teluk Harapan Hamlet, Sidoukti Village, where 18 iron logs were used to process mine stones to become gold.

The disclosure of the illegal gold mine was led by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Lampung Police, AKP Hendra Saputra, after receiving information about the existence of illegal mining activities in the Sidoukti Village area, Katibung District, South Lampung Regency, Wednesday (4/1).

His party has named three suspects in the illegal mining excavation case, namely SH (53) a resident of Bekasi, West Java, A (54) a resident of Salpoan, West Java and charged with Article 158 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 3 of 2020 Amendments to Law Number 4 of 2009 concerning Mineral and Coal.

Then, a person with the initials EP (52) a resident of Perum Way Kandis, Tanjung Senang District, Bandarlampung who was subject to Article 161 of Law No. 3 of 2020 Amendments to Law No. 4 of 2009 concerning Minerals and Coal.

The evidence that was secured was 18 metal logs, one sack containing a stone from the excavation of a hole, one blower machine, one hammer, one crowbar carving, one dynamo, two buckets, one tool for twisting, seven small sacks containing a rock that had been pounded, two sacks containing untwined stones, and one smelter.
