Sandiaga Uno Admits He Got A Lot Of 'homework' From Jokowi And Ma'ruf Amin
JAKARTA - Sandiaga Uno has been officially appointed as Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) replacing Wishnutama Kusubandio. He revealed that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) gave him many tasks, one of which was to ensure the readiness of super priority destinations within one year.
Sandiaga also said that Jokowi had warned him to move quickly to handle the tourism sector. Moreover, currently the COVID-19 pandemic situation is still ongoing.
"I was given a very short time, one year for him (Jokowi) to see the readiness of the five super priority destinations but from 360 degrees of aspects," he said, during the handover ceremony (sertijab) Menparekraf, at the Sapta Pesona Building, Kemenparekraf Office, Wednesday, 23 December.
The former Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta also said that President Jokowi was a very detailed figure. In fact, he is expected to be able to see the readiness of the five super priority destinations from all aspects, from the largest to the smallest.
"He is very detailed. From his dances, costumes, cultural arts, talents, human resources (human resources), services, and so on," he said.
Not only did he get the task to prepare tourist destinations, Sandiaga said, he was also asked to pay attention to the Calendar of Events (CoE). The programs in question range from small, medium, to large scale events on a world scale.
His nickname said that he also received a message from Vice President Ma'ruf Amin. One of them is related to the creative economy sector, which is the main drawer of the Indonesian economy and creates jobs for the community.
Furthermore, Sandi said, Vice President Ma'ruf asked himself to take a truly holistic approach related to the creative economy sector while of course carrying out the COVID-19 protocol with discipline.
In addition, Sandi said, Ma'ruf asked several tourism products that have been running until now for innovations. For example, halal tourism, tourist villages, and several other activities that touch the economic aspects of the people.
"For future plans and strategies, we have to get to work. Because we don't have much time. We need adaptation, innovation and collaboration. We do our best for the nation and country," he said.
