JAKARTA - The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business (SKK Migas) together with the Cooperation Contract Contract Contract Contractors (KKKS) Medco E&P Natuna Ltd. have completed the Belida Extension Project located in the Working Area of Blok B Laut Natuna, Riau Islands Province.

With the completion of this project, it is estimated that it can increase national gas production by 30 MMSCFD (million cubic feet per day).

Deputy for Exploitation of SKK Migas Wahju Wibowo said the project Onstream was marked by the completion of the start-up production facility at the Malong Offshore Pavilion on December 18, 2022 and followed by the Offshore Pavilion of Belida North East on Sunday, December 25, 2022.

"SKK Migas hopes that all KKKS will continue to make maximum efforts in developing new oil and gas fields to support the continued increase in national oil and gas production, as a concrete step in realizing the joint vision of 1 million BOPD (oil barrels per day) and 12 BSCFD (billion cubic feet per day) in 2030," Wahju told the media, Thursday, December 29.

Wahju added that the investment value of the Belida Extension Project was 77.5 million US dollars or around Rp. 1.2 trillion.

In addition to its large investment, this project is a historic project in Indonesia because it will be the first field to produce the Intra Muda Layer in Natuna. In addition, it is also the first field that has succeeded in producing ahead of other fields that first get the approval of the First Plan of Development to produce the Intra Muda Layer," he explained.

Meanwhile, Medco E&P President Director Ronald Gunawan said the Belida Extension Project was part of the Malong Field Development Project and Belida North East.

We hope to continue to increase our production both from the offshore and offshore fields. The company is also grateful for the support of SKK Migas and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, as well as other stakeholders so that this project can run smoothly," concluded.
