President Zelensky Advertises Iran During A Visit To The United States, Tehran Diplomat:LERity There Are Bounds

JAKARTA - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Lazi condemns Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky's harsh statement in connection with the country made during his speech at the United States Congress, according to a ministry statement.

"He once again stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran does not supply military hardware to any party for use in Ukraine," the statement said.

"Iran always respects the territorial integrity of all countries including Ukraine," the ministry said.

"President Zelensky should know that Iran's strategic patience against such baseless accusations has limits."

The statement also said that he advised the President of Ukraine to learn from the fate of several other political leaders who were satisfied with the support of the United States.

President Zelensky spent several hours in the United States on December 21, his first overseas visit during Russia's 300-day invasion that began on February 24.

He met US President Joe Biden, then visited the US Congress and gave a speech there. Ahead of President Zelensky's visit, the US announced a new military aid package worth US$1.85 billion. For the first time, it includes Patriot air defense systems batteries.

In August, the Washington Post published a report accusing Iran of sending drones to Russia. The report was later followed by similar claims by the US Government.

Moscow and Tehran have repeatedly rejected allegations of using Iranian drones by Russia in Ukraine. Russian President Dmitry Peskov's spokesman considers the report a false and convincing story that the Russian military uses Russian-made drones.
