Pinangki-Andi Irfan's Prosecutor's Duet 'Save' Joko Tjandra, Who Even Turns To Problems

JAKARTA - Two defendants in the case of alleged gratification of the Supreme Court (MA) fatwa arrangement, Attorney Pinangki Sirna Malasari and Andi Irfan Jaya revealed new facts in the trial. One of them was about his meeting with Joko Tjandra in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

They left for Joko Tjandra's office on November 25, 2019 and returned to Indonesia, a day later. In the indictment of the Public Prosecutor (JPU), this meeting discussed the matter of the action plan and the power of attorney to sell.

In the initial plan, the action plan was made to help Joko Tjandra not to be executed in the case of the Bank Bali cassie. Thus, several legal remedies and other agreements are clearly stated.

Although in the trial, Andi Irfan Jaya denied this. Even, he said if he never made or knew about the action plan.

"I never made an action plan and never sent it," said Andi Irfan Jaya in a trial at the Corruption Court, Central Jakarta, Thursday, December 18.

Regardless of the prosecutor's charges, Andi Irfan already had a hunch that his meeting with Joko Tjandra would lead to problems in the future. It is for that reason that he tries to get rid of photo evidence that shows their togetherness.

"Because the news of the meetings became a problem," said Andi Irfan Jaya.

The removal of evidence was by throwing his cellphone into the sea at Losari Beach, Makassar. Even so, his hunch was evident. This is because investigators from the Directorate of Investigation at the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes sent a summons for examination.

"So, sir, when I was examined, I realized that if this problem continues then this will one day become a polemic," he said.

"I had a choice at that time to say that I was wrong but it would be even more wrong if I lied," continued Andi Irfan Jaya.

Although he admitted that he was worried after being involved in the meeting, in fact Andi Irfan still agreed to Pinangki's invitation to accompany him to meet Joko Tjandra. The former NasDem politician argued that he agreed because he was happy to be able to go abroad at no cost.

"What was in my heart at that time was probably more or less happy that I was invited to go out, I didn't pay anymore," he said.

Meanwhile, if he switched to Pinangki's reason, he invited Andi Irfan Jaya to meet Joko Tjandra because at that time he was intensely communicating. Moreover, they have also known each other for a long time.

"So at that time it was a coincidence that it was Andi Irfan that I was communicating intensely," said Pinangki.

But in the initial plan, Pinangki actually had someone else accompany him. She is a woman named Endang. But because at the last moment, Endang could not go to Malaysia.

So, with this condition Pinangki invited Andi Irfan Jaya. In fact, in his invitation, Pinangki also explained their purpose for Malaysia.

"And coincidentally, last minute Ms. Endang could not participate, I asked Andi Irfan to accompany her," he said.

In fact, the panel of judges who at that time heard the answer then asked a question why Pinangki did not invite her husband. Then, he answered with tears in his eyes if at that time the marriage relationship was not going well.

"At that time my husband and I had a problem," said Pinangki.

Early Introduction

At the previous trial, Andi Irfan Jaya also had time to tell the beginning of his introduction to prosecutor Pinangki Sirna Malasari. It all started 7 years ago when Andi Irfan Jaya was still working in the capital.

"I knew Bu Pinangki about 7 years ago when I was still working in Jakarta, at that time I met at the Merah Delima restaurant in South Jakarta," said Andi Irfan.

It was at that place to eat that Andi Irfan ventured to get acquainted with Pinangki. So, their relationship is getting closer.

"I invited him to meet," said Andi Irfan.

"At that time I saw him there alone and I took him to meet him and I wanted to," Andi Irfan continued.

In his introduction, Andi Irfan said that Pinangki did not have a husband. They also often meet just to have a chat. Until finally, he considered Pinangki as his best friend.

"After that, I often communicate. When we meet, sometimes. The material for the discussion is actually free, but most often related to children and families," said Andi Irfan.

"I don't know whether he considers me a friend or not, but for me the defendant is a friend," added Andi Irfan.
