JAKARTA - PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk welcomes the provision of Polymerase Chain Raction (PCR) -based swab examinations for airplane passengers traveling to and from a number of regions in Indonesia, including Bali.

As is known, the government has set new regulations starting Friday, December 18, for tourists traveling overland to Bali to carry out a rapid antigen test on the D-2 or 2x24 hours before departure.

Meanwhile, airplane passengers to Bali are required to take a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) swab test on D-2 before departure.

President Director of PT Garuda Indonesia (Tbk) Irfaniaputra said, according to WHO recommendations, PCR-based swab examination is a diagnostic method that has the highest level of accuracy as the 'gold standard' for the COVID-19 diagnostic test.

"We understand that this year's end-of-year holiday is not only about celebration, joy, and family. But also about our safety, comfort and safety together. We certainly hope that the provisions of this PCR-based swab examination can be interpreted as an effort to ensure a sense of security and comfort. people during their year-end holidays, "he said, through a written statement received by VOI, Thursday, December 17.

Irfan said, his party believes that in the midst of this pandemic situation, the need for a sense of security and comfort for the community is an important priority in carrying out trips, not only when using air transportation but also when arriving at their destination.
