PSG President Is Not Intending To Buy Cristiano Ronaldo, More Interested In Boyong Jude Bellingham
JAKARTA - Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) President Nasser Al-Khelaifi firmly rejected the possibility of bringing in Cristiano Ronaldo, who is currently a free transfer player.
This rejection is because currently Les Parisiens already has three star players up front. PSG already has Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe.
Therefore, it is impossible for Al-Khelaifi to add CR7 to the squad.
"Land Ronaldo? We already have three players [Messi, Neymar and Mbappe], so, it's very difficult to think about Ronaldo," Al-Khelaifi said as quoted by Sky Sport.
"I wish him all the best. He is fantastic and he is still an amazing player."
Ronaldo currently does not have a club after Manchester United has terminated his contract from a controversial interview he conducted with veteran journalist Piers Morgan some time ago.
Despite his status as one of the best players, many European clubs are not interested in signing Ronaldo. This is because his salary is still too big at the age of 37 years.
PSG is one of the few clubs that are considered capable of paying Ronaldo as well as a guarantee to play in the Champions League. However, PSG doesn't seem to be a favorite destination for Ronaldo following the president's statement.
Al-Khelaifi gave a signal that he was more interested in buying the England national team star who is currently strengthening Borussia Dortmund, Jude Billingham. The 19-year-old is currently considered one of the most talented midfielders.
"A great player. To be honest, England was lucky to have him... and he was one of the best players in the tournament, amazing and you saw his first World Cup -- calm down, relaxed, and confident," Al-Khelaifi said.
"Everyone wants it. I will not hide it. But I respect him at his club and must respect if we want to talk to him, we will talk to the club first," he added.
