Menteri Teten Masduki Menyebut IMC Kemenperin Bakal Mendorong Produktivitas UMKM
PURWAKARTA - Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (Menkop UKM) Teten Masduki said the Indonesia Manufacturing Center (IMC) initiated by the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) would boost the productivity of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
"Especially, I appreciate the Ministry of Industry, because the IMC that was built is one of the very important foundations to encourage the productivity of our MSMEs," said Teten, quoted from Antara, Monday, December 5.
Teten said that the presence of IMC will greatly help domestic industries in the production process, including the MSME sector.
The reason is, there are still many machines used by industry and MSMEs, which are imported from various countries.
In addition to encouraging productivity, continued Teten, MSME players will also get machines at a more affordable price, because they are obtained from within the country.
"IMC also has the potential to substitute industrial machinery imports for MSMEs. So productivity increases and stimulates national MSMEs," he said.
With innovation in the field of machinery, he added, MSMEs can adopt higher technology in the production process.
Teten said, this could be a solution to the problems faced by MSMEs with millions today, still experiencing low productivity and also using low technology in the production process.
The Ministry of Industry is building IMC as an effort to accelerate the mastery of industrial sector technology.
The development of the IMC is driven by the aspirations of the Ministry of Industry to increase the competitiveness and independence of the national industry through the development and improvement of mastery of industrial technology.
The development of the IMC on 11 hectares of land was carried out as an effort to strengthen the national industrial structure through increasing mastery of technology so that the national industry was able to produce industrial products that had been imported.
