KymiRing Bangkrut Circuit, Finland MotoGP In Fact For Forever

JAKARTA - Finland's MotoGP has graduated and may not take place again. This happened after the KymiRing Circuit manager declared it bankrupt.

Kymi Ring Events as the manager of the KymiRing Circuit stated that they were unable to pay the millions of dollars that Dorna Sports requested as the holder of the MotoGP commercial rights.

"The subsidiary of KymiRing 'KymiRing Events' was unable to pay the fees requested by Dorna Sports, until they finally filed for bankruptcy. This means that Finland's MotoGP is dead forever," quoted from Speedweek on Thursday, November 17.

This circuit states that it has never held a MotoGP agenda in a state of bankruptcy since it was officially opened in 2019.

In July 2017 KymiRing was licensed by Dorna Sports to hold the Finnish MotoGP. The Finnish MotoGP race was originally included in the 2020 MotoGP calendar. But due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the race was postponed to 2021.

However, due to the pandemic, Finland's MotoGP has been pushed back to 2022.

Initially, KymiRing was scheduled to hold a MotoGP on July 10, 2022. However, this was not done because KymiRing could not meet the requirements requested by Dorna, so homologation could not be done.

The KymiRing Circuit is scheduled to be a debutant circuit to hold the 2022 MotoGP. The management is known to be unable to complete the construction of the paddock.

While road access is in poor condition, as well as ambulance lines that are not carried out properly around the circuit area.

After the owner of KymiRing went bankrupt, the KymiRing Events program agency also suffered the same fate. This company is Dorna's partner and which organizes and organizes all other events on the new circuit.

Several weeks ago news broke that Dorna had submitted a claim of 6.4 million euros (Rp 104 billion) to KymiRing Events due to the cancellation of the GP. This step was taken by Dorna based on a long-term contract signed in 2021 to host the Finnish GP.
