Rapporteur Withdraws Report, Cases Of Election Violation For Cagub West Sumatra Mulyadi May Be Closed

JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri may stop investigating a case of alleged violations of the general election (election) with the suspect West Sumatra governor candidate (cagub) Mulyadi. The reason is that the reporting party in this case withdrew the report.

"Yes, that's right (the reporter withdrew the report)," said the Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri Brig. Gen. Andi Rian in his statement, Friday, December 11.

The termination of case handling, said Andi, was based on the results of the Gakkumdu center meeting. At the meeting it was recommended to close the case.

"The results of the third discussion meeting at the Gakkumdu Bawaslu Center have also been completed with a recommendation that the case be stopped," he said.

In addition, investigators' plans to issue a warrant for Mulyadi's arrest were also canceled. Later, the decision to stop handling cases will be decided at the next meeting.

"What is clear is that investigators at the Gakkumdu Center will immediately carry out a case title to stop the investigation in accordance with the recommendations of the III Discussion Meeting," he said.

West Sumatra Governor candidate Mulayadi was named a suspect on Friday, December 4. The determination of the suspect is based on the results of the case title.

In this case, Mulyadi was presumed under Article 187 paragraph (1) of Law Number 6 Year 2020.

This case began when Mulyadi became a guest speaker at an event on one of the national television stations, on November 12. At that time, Mulyadi mentioned sentences containing campaigns.

Even though it had not yet entered the campaign period. This incident was reported by another candidate, Yogi Ramon Setiawan. The report was submitted to Bawaslu on 17 November.

The police then followed up the report after the Gakkumdu Center agreed that there had been election violations.
