Citilink's Initial Flight Is A Form Of Flight Operational Recovery Support In Purbalingga After The Pandemic
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation appreciates the Regional Government (Pemda) of Banyumas Raya as well as flight operator Citilink, for its support and collaboration so that the national airline managed to make its inaugural flight from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta, to Jenderal Besar Sudirman Airport, Purbalingga, on November 10, 2022.
The inaugural flight coincided with the commemoration of National Hero's Day.
"The implementation of this activity is a concrete form of the follow-up to the direction of the Minister of Transportation so that the central government, local governments, and aviation operators collaborate in supporting the optimization of flight operations at JB Sudirman Airport after being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic," said Plt. Director General of Civil Aviation Nur Isnin Isstiartono, in Jakarta, Saturday, November 12.
Nur Isnin said the operation of Citilink airline was a follow-up to the signing of the Joint Statement Letter of the Ministry of Transportation with the Regional Government of Banyumas Raya, namely Purbalingga, Banyumas, Banjarnegara, Wonosobo, and Pemalang in early November.
"With the realization of this flight, the need for air transportation services for the people of Purbalingga and the surrounding area can be met, and it is hoped that it will be a stimulus for the Banyumas Raya region to other areas," he explained.
In addition, said Nur Isnin, his party would like to thank Citilink airline for supporting the economic recovery in the Purbalingga area with this.
"We appreciate Citilink, hopefully this collaboration will continue and be sustainable to support the recovery of flight operations and improve the community's economy," he said.
For now, Citilink airlines will serve flights twice a week, on Tuesday and Thursday.
