Indika Energy Joint Altilium Group And TSB Prepare An Electric Vehicle Ecosystem
JAKARTA - PT Indika Energy Tbk. (Indika Energy) collaborated with Altilium Group and PT Terra Susteneri Berdaya (TSB) to form a new legal entity to promote, market and license DNi Process in Indonesia.
Vice President Director and Group CEO of Indika Energy Azis Armand said that the incessant shift to electric vehicles (EVs) needs to be balanced with increasing investment in ore processing plants to meet the supply of battery metals.
"Significant actions need to be taken to develop processing facilities supported by clean technology," he said in a written statement, Saturday, November 12.
Azis added, as a first step in this partnership, he will collaborate to start a feasibility study on the construction of the first DNi Process factory in the country.
The plant will be designed to produce at least 16,000 tpa of nickel and cobalt in the form of mixed hydroxide products (MHP), although the plant can be designed to produce nickel and cobalt sulfate. Initially, DNi Process was developed for use in Indonesia in processing metal reserves.
Altilium CEO Chris Gower said that his party welcomes the cooperation established with TSB and Indika Energy in developing DNi Process in Indonesia.
"Our goal is to develop an electric vehicle industry with a clean and sustainable supply of nickel and cobalt, and support Indonesia as a leading player in its transition to EVs around the world," he continued.
Heru Dewanto, Chairman of TSB said, this collaboration can open up the potential for the world's richest nickel reserves through the application of DNi Process TM, the first sustainable nickel processing technology and without waste.
"This initiative will position Indonesia as the main player in the EV value chain to encourage the global energy transition," he said.
Just so you know, DNi ProcessTM Altilium is a sustainable wasteless technology that eliminates the need for tailing dams and disposal in the deep sea. It also gives license holders a more profitable, flexible and efficient solution to produce 'batch-level' PLTMH.
This can be achieved due to the optimal process of extracting nickel and cobalt levels, along with other sold metals (Ni, Co, Sc, Fe, Mg, Al) from the entire profile of laterite ore.
