Meski GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Rugi, Telkom Tidak Berintikat Terlepas Saham GOTO

JAKARTA - PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) insists that it does not intend to relinquish its share ownership in PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk, even though the company with the GOTO stock code is at a loss. According to Telkom Indonesia Digital Director M Fajrin Rasyid, it has a number of considerations and assessment aspects on an investment decision. This means that it is not only seen from the fair value of the investment alone. That way, said Fajrin, several aspects include the loss problem that still occurs in GoTo cannot be the only consideration for releasing Telkom's share ownership in the company. "But what is certain is that we see that investment in GoTo is a long-term investment. And we also see the value of the existing synergy between Telkom Group and GoTo," said Fajrin, at the Ministry of SOEs Building, Jakarta, Tuesday, November 8. Meanwhile, GoTo is currently entering the phase of opening the lock-up of its predecessor investors. Thus, pre-IPO investors like Telkom can release their share ownership.

As previously reported, Telkom's management itself said that Telkomsel's goal was to invest in GoTo, solely to make business synergies that had added value. From the results of investment in GoTo, in 2021 Telkomsel has enjoyed a value of synergy above Rp450 billion, then Rp150 billion in the first quarter of 2022. This advantage can be seen from the increase in the number of Gojek users using Telkomsel year-on-year. Including the increase in penetration of the number of Telkomsel self-use packages by Gojek drivers. Then, Gojek drivers as retailers (resellers) also grew on an annual basis, along with the growth of package purchase transactions in GoPulsa and data packages in the MyTelkomsel application using GoPay. Meanwhile, GoFood merchants can also use Telkomsel data packages. If Telkomsel synergizes with GoTo then there is a potential revenue from purchasing data packages by Gojek partners, which amounts to Rp125 billion/month or Rp1.5 trillion per year. Beyond that, another benefit of Telkomsel and GoTo synergies is the formation of a national digital ecosystem.
