Breaking News! The Third Quarter Economic Growth Reaches 5.72 Percent, Highest This Year
JAKARTA – The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that Indonesia's economic growth in the third quarter of 2022 was 5.7 percent year on year (yoy).
Head of BPS Margo Yuwono said the figure was higher than the first and first and second quarters of this year, which were 5.01 percent and 5.4 percent, respectively.
"In the current year or from January to September 2022, the Indonesian economy grew by 5.4 percent," he said when holding a press conference on Monday, November 7.
According to Margo, the growth in the last quarter is a marker of an ever-increasing trend in the last four quarters.
"We have consistently grown above 5 percent since the fourth quarter of 2021," he said.
Margo added, this is a real sign if Indonesia's economic recovery continues and shows it is getting stronger.
"This is clearly an achievement in the midst of increasingly uncertain global conditions, but we can still maintain growth and even the trend is getting better," he said.
