Wamenparekraf Promises To Encourage Creative Economy Players To Rise To Class

Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Wamenparekraf) Angela Tanoesoedibjo said the government would continue to encourage creative economy actors to advance to class.

"The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will continue to support and strive to improve the quality of MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) in Indonesia through events like this and also through the Proudly Made in Indonesia National Movement," Angela said while attending an exhibition in Jakarta, through an official statement, Saturday, November 5.

On this occasion, he appreciated the 2022 Brightspot Market exhibition which featured MSME products and local brands made by the nation's children.

He said, more than 99.9 percent of business actors came from MSMEs. The sector absorbs 97 percent of the total national workforce and contributes to the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of 57 percent.

"This phenomenon explains that MSMEs are a productive effort to support the macro and micro economy in Indonesia, and influence other sectors to help develop," said Angela.

"I hope that creative economy actors in Indonesia can see this as an opportunity, so that they can take a role in the development of MSMEs," he said.

When attending the exhibition which took place on November 3-6, 2022, the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy tasted several products from MSME actors, one of which was contemporary coffee drinks that were increasingly loved by the younger generation.

The exhibition, which was attended by 200 participants, presents local products that have been curated in several categories such as retail and culinary. Exhibition consumers are directed to choose local products over foreign products as a form of empowerment of domestic resources and foster a sense of pride in local products.
