Fadli Zon: I More Believe In The Chronology Of The Shootings Of The FPI Warriors

JAKARTA - Gerindra Party politician, Fadli Zon, stated that he believed more in the chronology of the clash that led to the shooting of six laskar followers of Rizieq Shihab from the version of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI).

This is in response to two different statements from the police and FPI. Police said the shooting was carried out because the army attacked and there was a shootout. However, FPI denied the police statement.

"The two great narratives were presented to the people. Which one can be trusted the most? I myself believe more in the narrative and chronology put forward by FPI because it makes much more sense," said Fadli in a discussion broadcast on LDTV Youtube, Tuesday, December 8.

According to Fadli, the narrative presented by the police was easy to refute. "With the paramilitary narrative using pistols and sharp weapons, those were classic intelligence methods in the past," said Fadli.

Apart from that, Fadli also considered that the government showed an authoritarian side in dealing with Rizieq. This is because Fadli admits that he has not heard of any government officials or state institutions expressing condolences for the death of six FPI troops.

"There doesn't seem to be the slightest bit of regret. Then, we don't see any condolences from figures of the security apparatus and also leaders of high state officials. I haven't heard so far," he said.

For information, the police attack by the Rizieq Shihab laskar took place around 00.30 WIB Monday, December 7 in the morning.

Metro Jaya Regional Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran said that the police received news that the mass of supporters of Rizieq Shihab would be deployed in connection with the investigation called Inspector General Fadil circulating in many WhatsApp groups.

The Regional Police conducted an investigation into the truth of the information and followed the vehicle Rizieq was in. On the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road, Fadil said the officers' vehicles were intercepted and then attacked using firearms and sharp weapons.

"Members who were threatened with their safety because they were attacked, then took a firm measure of measure, so that the group suspected of being MRS followers, totaling 10, died as many as 6 people," said Fadil.

However, this was denied by the FPI spokesman, Munarman. Munarman emphasized that Rizieq had traveled to attend recitation at the residence of his immediate family.

"The news is slander. Habib Rizieq is heading outside Jakarta to attend the nuclear family recitation. I do not want to mention where it is. This is only a nuclear family recitation, it does not involve any parties," said Munarman.

Munarman also denied that Rizieq's followers had firearms. Therefore, Munarman emphasized that no shootout was carried out by the police and members of the laskar.

"That big slander, if our troops are said to be carrying firearms and shooting. There was no shooting, only shooting incidents. We could not possibly buy (firearms) from the black market. So lying, completely lying. , pervert the facts, "he concluded.
