Vehicle Volume on Puncak Route Bogor Increases, Police Apply Odd Even System
BOGOR – To anticipate congestion along the Puncak-Cianjur route, West Java, the police have implemented an odd-even system and a one-way system. Because the volume of vehicles every weekend increases, queues of vehicles create congestion.
Kanit Turjawali Satlantas Cianjur Police, Ipda Akhmad Afandi said, from Saturday, October 29 to Sunday afternoon, October 30, the volume of vehicles crossing the Puncak-Cianjur route has increased, so that queues of vehicles can be seen at several vulnerable points, especially towards tourist attractions.
"The queues of vehicles can be seen on Pacet-Cipanas Street, Jalan Raya Cipanas Street, Cibodas T-junction, and Hanjawar T-junction, the vehicle speed does not stagnate. Some flow engineering has been carried out by traffic jamming officers", said Ipda Akhmad.
He explained that every weekend, the odd-even system is still in effect because every weekend the volume of vehicles to or from Puncak increases with tourist destinations such as Savilage, Cibodas Botanical Gardens, Taman Bunga Nusantara, and Kota Bunga.
Vehicles with inappropriate police numbers are directed to take the alternative route of Jonggol or Sukabumi because they cannot cross the Puncak-Cianjur route. Including large vehicles such as buses and trucks cannot pass during the holiday weekend as an effort to prevent total traffic jams.

"We are also still implementing a one-way system when long queues of vehicles occur, especially in the morning one way to Puncak or vice versa in the evening one way to Bogor", he said.
He also appealed to road users who pass along the Puncak to Cianjur route to always be careful and alert when crossing paths prone to landslides and fallen trees, because many large, old trees are prone to collapse, especially when heavy rains are accompanied by strong winds.
"Including this route, it is prone to landslides from the Puncak area to Jalan Raya Cugenang-Cianjur Street. For large trees that are prone to falling from the Puncak area to Jalan Raya Bandung-Cianjur Street", he also said.
